A primary school camp provides an enthralling and exciting adventure packed full of fun activities and challenges that will stimulate your primary school pupils. Our programs are tailored to the age of the children, and the learning outcomes of each primary school stage to ensure that activities are age-appropriate and students will get the most out of them.

Which program is best for Years 3-4 students?
Our DISCOVER! program is part of our overarching R.E.A.C.H Framework, developed in conjuction with teachers and students to enable age-appropriate breakthroughs and educational outcomes. DISCOVER! is perfect for students in Years 3 – 4. Find out more about our DISCOVER! program here.
What’s included in the cost of a primary school camp?
With PGL, there are no hidden costs. All activities, equipment, food and accommodation are included in the cost of the camp. You’ll even benefit from a dedicated PGL Group Leader who will support you and your group for your entire stay. They’ll make your life easier and ensure you have everything you need.
Skilled, trained activity instructors deliver a selection of great adventure sessions and will help students make the most of the challenges and opportunities each activity presents. Use of all activity equipment for activity sessions is included. We even provide staffed Evening Activities for your school – we take care of the details and you’re free to join in the fun!
For a small additional fee, you have the option of adding Morning and Afternoon tea as well as Supper to your booking. We can also provide bedding (fitted sheet, pillow, doona) for an additional fee if required.
Coach transport is not automatically included in the price, but we would be more than happy to help you arrange this – just contact us with your requirements.
What activities are included at primary school camps?
At each of our three primary school camp locations, we have over 20 different activities, all designed to motivate, build confidence and develop resilience. Whether they are getting wet raft building, zipping down the flying fox or testing their nerve by abseiling down a climbing tower, we’ve got it covered! Our specialised Activity Programers will put together a program of adventure activities based on the age and abilities of the participants, and the individual learning outcomes identified by the school or group.

How do I book a primary school camp?
Booking your primary school camp is simple. You can submit an enquiry via our website, contact us via email at info@pgladventurecamps.com.au or call us on 1300 859 895 for any queries or to book your group. Our sales staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and will be able to help you out with any questions that you may have.
Bookings must be confirmed at least 8 weeks prior to arrival. If you enquire within 8 weeks of arrival, we will be unable to facilitate your booking and will provide you with alternate dates. For all bookings, a deposit of 10% is required to confirm the booking. Our booking terms and conditions can be found here.
What is the pre-arrival process and timeline?
PGL have many years of experience in running camps and we have this down to a fine art. We work together with teachers / group leaders to ensure that you (and we) have all of the information that we need to provide an outstanding camp experience. We rely on teachers / group leaders to provide the information requested in a timely manner. Here is a guideline to our timeframes:
- 6 weeks prior to arrival: The Party Leader will receive an Important Camp Information Email which outlines the deadlines of when specific information will be required
- 4 weeks prior to arrival: The Party Leader will need to advise us of final numbers of attendees as well as gender splits to assign rooming. Party leaders will also discuss activity preferences at this time.
- 2 weeks prior to arrival: We provide the Party Leader with the Activity Program and Rooming Plan. The Party Leader will need to provide us with Dietary and Medical requirements for all attendees (staff and students)
- 1 week prior to arrival: The Party Leader will receive an email from us confirming all details and invite them to rebook future camp dates.
What details can you provide about the accommodation at each primary school camp?
The accommodation at each of our primary school camps is slightly different, but all student rooms are housed in comfortable, multi-share rooms, either with ensuite facilities or with toilet and shower facilities nearby.
Students will need to bring fitted sheets, pillows, sleeping bags and towels. Bedding can be arranged for an additional fee. Teachers are generally accommodated in single, twin or triple rooms with ensuite accommodation, and bedding is provided for teachers. Please see individual camp pages for accommodation details specific to the camp where you’ll be staying.

Do you accommodate special dietary requirements at your primary school camps?
We want to inspire children to a healthier lifestyle that includes a tasty, balanced diet. We provide three healthy, high-energy meals per day, with plenty of variety, and we always serve generous portions of fruit and vegetables for a balanced meal. A vegetarian alternative can always be provided, and we can accommodate most special diets required on medical or religious grounds but in all cases we will require full details at time of booking – just let us know!
Morning and afternoon tea are available at each of the camps for a small supplement. Please speak with our Customer Relations team when you book! If anyone in your camp is celebrating a birthday during their time on camp, please let us know, and we can make special arrangements to help them celebrate in style!

What facilities does each primary school camp have?
All of our primary school camps here at PGL have a range of excellent facilities, all designed to enhance the experience for your group and to ensure that they get the most from their camp. How safe are PGL’s primary school camps?
Safety is our top priority at PGL Australia. All our primary school camp activities are carefully planned and led by trained instructors who adhere to strict safety guidelines. We regularly inspect and maintain our equipment to ensure a secure environment for all participants.
PGL staff will also lead groups and instruct students on activity sessions, whilst we allow teachers and group leaders to continue to have responsibility for student behaviour and welfare. We also have a list of risk assessments and activity descriptions available to view on the link here.

Are PGL Australia’s primary school camps accredited?
PGL Australia has been successfully operating outdoor school camps in Australia since 2014 and comply with all relevant licencing requirements for the sector.
PGL undertakes Essential Safety Measures compliance annually, which ensures that our camps are well-maintained and safe. This includes compliance with air handling systems, exit doors, emergency lighting, emergency power supply, fire detection and control instruments and sprinkler systems.
In regard to activity standards in Australia, there is no mandatory qualification for activity providers. PGL has voluntarily submitted to the Australian Adventure Activity Standard (AAAS) and been assessed as meeting all requirements. As this is not a mandatory accreditation, we believe that this puts PGL in a favourable position to competitors who have not been independently assessed for activity safety.
Additionally, PGL is accredited by the Quality Tourism Framework (QTF) through the Australian Tourism Industry Council, signifying that we deliver a quality tourism experience. PGL is also accredited as a Camp and Adventure business under the same framework.
PGL is a member of the Australian Camps Association, a national peak body for camps and associated providers.
What are the expected standards of behaviour at a primary school camp?
PGL staff will lead groups and instruct students on activity sessions, teachers / groups leaders continue to have responsibility for student behaviour and welfare.
Are your primary school camps covered by public liability insurance, and what is the limit of liability?
PGL holds and will provide certificates of currency of insurance each year, including public liability insurance to $30,000,000 cover.
What do I need to pack?

Soft-sided bags, such as duffle bags, are easier for you to store in your cabin. Please try to limit the weight of your bag to under 15kg.
