‘How to develop problem solving skills in students’ is one question that floats around teachers’ and educators’ minds quite often. Well, our MASTER! program is one way! All of our activities challenge your students’ problem solving skills in one way or another. Often problem solving skills can go hand-in-hand with teamwork skills. Giving students challenges that are in their stretch-zone, while providing feedback and encouraging different ways of thinking, lead to some brilliant breakthroughs. Some examples include:
- Initiative Exercises
- Raft Building
- Challenge Course
Elevates organisational skills
Don’t forget about organisational skills. If you’re ever stuck thinking about how to improve organisational skills for students, then camp is the answer! As they aim to complete some challenges within a certain time, they begin to plan methodically and organise the tasks at hand. All these skills come hand in hand, complementing each other and helping with the growth of your students.
Outside of adventure activities, simply being on camp and being responsible for their own property and person does amazing things for students’ organisational skills. Working out which clothes to wear for different activities, how to dry out wet clothes and when to shower are all micro-activities that they may never have been responsible for in a home environment.
Our activities that can elevate your organisational skills include:
- Crate Stacking
- Packing backpack for overnight camp stay
- Packing up camp
