It might be a typical day at PGL, but let us assure you that this is a trip like no other. We have plenty of exciting camp activities for kids to enjoy.

If you’re thinking of sending your child on a camp with PGL then there’s no doubt you’ll want to know what they’ll be up to. In that case, here’s how you can expect your child’s day to go.

Morning

We’re all about starting the day the best way possible at PGL. So first thing first; breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day! Down at the dining room, your children will get all the nutrients they need to give them energy for the adventurous day ahead.

We have a range of cereals including Weetbix, Cornflakes, Rice Bubbles and Sultana Bran as well as toast, a cooked breakfast and fruit! They won’t be short of options that’s for sure. Once breakfast is over, it’s time to dive straight into the action.

Activity one

Our adventure camp activities are designed for children to have ultimate fun! They’ll take part in activities like our Flying Fox, which is an exhilarating experience! Children will be suspended and harnessed from the cable above as they’re sent hurling along the wire at tremendous speed. Other camp activities for kids include our Giant Swing, Initiative Exercises and more.

Morning Tea

A quick pit stop before lunch, just to have a morning snack and rehydrate. Then it’s off to the second activity of the day.

Activity two

After refuelling with morning tea, everyone will be raring to go on their next activity! Another popular PGL activity is Canoeing. Once children have had an introduction to this watersport and have grasped the basics, we’ve got some fantastic games for them to try in teams. If your child is heading on a holiday camp during the winter, then all of our watersports activities will be substituted for land-based ones. It’s a bit too chilly for the lakes during the colder climates!

Lunch

It’s time to refuel. Back to the dining room they go for a lunch spread. Depending on the day, we have things like baked potatoes, wraps, baguettes, salad and fruit. We’re only halfway through the adventure camp activities so it’s important for everyone to have a bite to eat.

For those who still have energy and are eager to play, they can have a quick kickabout while others finish their lunch. Then it’s back to the day’s activities!

Activity three

The third adventurous activity of the day could be something like our Low ropes course! In this challenge, children must negotiate their way across the ropes that are less than a metre off the ground; but it’s not as easy as it looks.

Afternoon Tea

Another quick recharge of their batteries with a snack and a drink, then off to the final activity of the day!

Activity four

Then it’s off to the final activity of the day! Maybe they’ll take the Leap of Faith in our final daily activity, where they must climb to the top of a six-metre pole and dive for the trapeze.

Now all the day activities are complete. But that’s not all! At PGL we put on some less strenuous evening activities for everyone to enjoy.

Dinner

Dinner time! At PGL we cater for many dietary requirements, with meals that are dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian! We serve meals such as Pasta with Bolognaise/Napoli/Carbonara and Garlic Bread, and Chicken Schnitzel with Gravy/Napoli/Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. Your child can also have gluten-free and vegan alternatives to our Pasta and Chicken Schnitzel, just let us know in advance and we’ll sort it.

We also have a salad bar for your little ones to fill their boots with veggies and fresh fruit, and of course, we can’t forget about Chocolate Pudding or Strawberry Mousse for dessert!

Evening Activities

The fun never stops! We’ve got games like Capture the Flag, Photo Challenge and Quizzes. It’s a great chance for your children to get together with their new friends and have a good laugh.

The evening is also a great time to relax and have a chat with friends. After all, it’s back to another busy day after some much-needed sleep.

Supper

Just before bed, children have a little bedtime snack and drink if they wish, so they’re all prepped for a good night’s sleep.

Bedtime

The time has come to hit the hay. After a chilled-out evening chatting with friends or watching a movie, it’s time for them to head to bed and regain all that energy. When the children are all tucked in, it’s lights out. A good night’s sleep is essential to prepare for another jam-packed day of adventure camp activities!
